LEARN ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN AMERICA
Thousands of American children are touched by human trafficking in the United States every day. There are at least 350 - 400 new victims of human trafficking every day. The average age of entry into child sex slavery in the U.S. is 13 years old. Once a minor becomes a victim, there are very little options for them to escape and recover. Victims live lives of pain and violence, of forced prostitution and little hope. Their freedom has been completely taken away, and they are living lives as slaves.
Freedom Youth Center is an anti human-trafficking organization whose work is focused on building a shelter and treatment facility for the victims of domestic minor sex trafficking in San Antonio. They have plans underway to build Freedom Youth Center, a treatment facility that will provide victims of child sex slavery with a way to restore their freedom and their lives. The Loft Coffee House, a non-profit organization, is excited to be hosting our 6th Annual Soul 2 Sole 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1K on November 3, 2012 at Guadalupe State Park.
This year we are focusing our efforts towards Freedom Youth Project Foundation, a local non-profit right here in San Antonio.
However
hard this issue is to stomach, it is only with your help that we are
able to provide a platform of awareness to our community and support to
those working on the front lines of this crime against children. Your
generous sponsorships will allow all 5K-registration fees to be donated
without removing administrative costs. All sponsorship donations that
are received above and beyond our goal will also go directly to Freedom
Youth Project. Even if you are unable to attend the race, it is still possible to make a $20 donation to help support Freedom Youth Project Foundation in its cause and mission.
